About Seventh-day Adventists

The Seventh-day Adventist Church is a mainstream Protestant church with approximately 19 million members worldwide, including more than one million members in North America. The Seventh-day Adventist Church seeks to enhance quality of life for people everywhere and to let people know that Jesus is coming again soon.

Adventists believe a Trinity of three persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—make up one God. They made salvation possible when Jesus, the Son, came to earth as a baby in Bethlehem and lived a sinless life in accordance with the Father's will. When Jesus was crucified for the sins of the people of the world and arose from the dead on the third day, victory was won for everyone.

When He returned to heaven following the resurrection, Jesus left the Holy Spirit to serve as our Comforter and Counselor. He promised to return to earth a second time to complete His plan of salvation and take His people to heaven. Adventists are among the believers who look forward to that day.

Adventists believe that God is concerned with the quality of human life, and that everything—the way we live, eat, speak, think, treat each other, and care for the world around us—is part of His plan. Our families, our children, our jobs, our talents, our money, and our time are all important to Him.

History of Mount Zion Filipino Church

From the early beginning of Mount Zion Filipino Seventh-day Adventist Church on July 27, 1991 with 224 charter members, our church membership has now grown to more than 600. After wandering for a period of more than 3 years to various temporary places of worship during its early years, our church realized a permanent home in its present location (140 St. Regis Crescent, Downsview) since 1995. Our building, a "warehouse" turned into a "church" was dotted with miracles and/or God's leading from the start and during its renovation. The dedication and commitment of its pioneers and members proves to be the key element in the completion of this house of worship. The two mortgages were fully paid for in 2010. MZFC looks back at the Filipino-Canadian Seventh-day Adventist Church as its mother church (the first Filipino church in Canada). Mt. Zion church has now two children of its own (The Scarborough Filipino, and The Kitchener Filipino-Canadian).

Our Milestones

From Henceforth,
"We have no fear of the future, unless we forget how God has led us in the past". Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the church will endeavor and continue to proclaim, lead, nurture, and equip her royal priesthood of believers, so each is empowered to glorify God from within Mt. Zion and beyond - till Jesus comes.
We would be happy to have you join us in worship or at one of the church events listed on our "Upcoming Events" calendar.
